Spread and Totals Selections – Week 8

Yet again, another successful week, going 2-1 on the totals and adding to our profit for the season.

Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos – Broncos +3.5 @ 1.91 with Paddy Power

Whilst the Chiefs dominated the Broncos last Sunday, I don’t feel that’s a true reflection on how good their defence is capable of playing right now, despite all their injuries. The Chargers put up an impressive 39 points against the Jags, but allowing them to rack up 29 points isn’t great given the ineptitude of that offence. The Broncos have defeated the Chargers in 5 of their last 7 match-ups, and back to back home games is always a blessing. With Phillip Lindsay looking like he’ll miss the game due to a concussion, that leaves ex-Charger Melvin Gordon as the workhorse. You know he’ll want to prove a point to the Chargers front office.

Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers – Falcons +3 @ 1.91 with Unibet

Somehow the Falcons seem to find new ways to lose every single week, and it’s becoming more and more painful to watch. Whilst the Panthers performed well against the Saints, they just didn’t have enough to take that next step. For whatever reason the Panthers also seem to struggle at home, having lost 6 straight at Bank of America Stadium. They also don’t have a great record against the Falcons, losing 8 of the last 10 contests. The Falcons offence is still a powerhouse, and will always give them the ability to stay in games, if the defence can make a few stops, and possibly grab a couple of turnovers it will make it very difficult for the Panthers to get their record back to .500.

Totals

Vikings at Packers – Under 53 points

Steelers at Ravens – Under 46.5 points

49ers at Seahawks – Under 53.5 points

The Falcons/Panthers overs has plenty of value, but the head to head records puts me off.

All selections are advised at 1 point each, with a 100 point bankroll.
